2013 Highlights

It’s 2014 and a New Year! Our opening hours and deliveries are now back to normal following the Christmas break.

But before normality is fully restored and we’re all, once again, busy beavering away, we thought it’d be nice to look back on 2013.

So below we’ve picked out 8 of our LBP highlights from the year!

We kicked 2013 off by exhibiting at the Hospitality Show – in one very snowy Birmingham!

(This year we’ve plans for the Food & Drink Expo and Hotelympia – more on this in the coming months).

A fantastic month! We were delighted to win the Sustainability Award at the annual Food Packaging Association Awards.

April saw the launch of our new palm leaf range. Bowls, plates and platters – all made from fallen Indian palm leaves.

We had a blast exhibiting at Caffe Culture! And fortunately, this event was more spring blossom, less winter blizzard.

Several LBP members could be seen running, cycling and swimming around Oxfordshire as they competed in the Blenheim Palace Triathlon for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. And even more of us have signed up for this year – let the training commence!

Our range of takeaway packaging grew even bigger with new ‘bagasse clamshells’. No more polystyrene containers or soggy chips – because bagasse is made from sugar cane it’s both breathable and compostable.

We learnt just how much food waste is costing food businesses at ‘Taking Action on Waste’, an event organised for signatories of the Hospitality and Food Service Agreement (HaFSA) – a voluntary agreement started by the government waste body, WRAP.

The year ended on a high when we won the Sustainability Award at the National Business Awards!

That concludes our round-up of LBP highlights!
