Bio-plastic disposal has a lower impact than oil based plastics, because it is recyclable and compostable.
This is the ideal disposal method for bio-plastic. Increasingly organic waste (such as garden and food waste) is being collected and disposed of separately through composting. If bio-plastic is disposed of with organic waste it will compost within six to eight weeks. Local authorities are increasing collecting organic waste for composting. Home composting is also effective.
