Sustainability is at heart of everything we do at London Bio Packaging. We are a triple bottom line business, putting equal importance on environmental and social factors as the on economic aspects of what we do. Our aim is to be at the forefront of sustainability and environmental best practise in our sector, in terms of products, services, knowledge and internal operations. Our company is responding to various sustainability issues with the aim of reducing the environmental impact that we and our customers have.
Our products are sustainable in three main ways: 1. They are made from renewable or recycled resources 2. They have a lower carbon footprint 3. They can be composted or recycled We aim to use the most eco friendly materials possible so that each of our products can be given one of our eco labels. We care about where our packaging ends up, which is why we have set up a 'closed loop' compositing and recycling service. We are also a member of the UK Renewable Packaging Group, founded by the National Non-Food Crops Centre (itself set up by DEFRA) to promote renewable materials and sustainable packaging in the UK.
London Bio Packaging is independently certified to ISO14001 - an internationally recognised Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Achieving ISO14001 means we have been independently certified as running our business in such a way as to ensure we continually identify, measure and reduce our environmental impacts. Other areas we have taken action to reduce our internal impacts are; • Waste minimisation and recycling • Using recycled stationery & office products • Offsetting carbon emissions for internal operations & deliveries. We do this through Emission Neutral who are part of the United Nations Environment Program’s (UNEP) Climate Neutral Network. • We are Carbon Smart blue Certified, which recognises the office management actions we have taken internally to reduce our impact on the environment. • We are a signatory of the Mayor of London’s Green Code
